Presentation
Knowledge becomes such a key challenge at the scale of individuals as well as the entreprise or society levels, that a "kwowledge society" is now emerging from our "information society". Following the GRACQ (an interest group in Knowledge Engineering) initiative, several scientific communities of researchers and practicians that work with or about "knowledge" have joined their efforts to confront their points of view. Most of these are concerned with the localization, identification, analysis, description representation, modelling or operationalization of knowledge. Their goal is to define management or computer supported tools to assist some activities and practices. These communities (Design, Human Factors and Ergonomics, Knowledge Engineering, Industrial System Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics and Socio-linguistics, Knowledge Management, Psychology, Cognitive Sciences, Terminology, ...) wish to contrast their practices and to confront experience feedbacks in order to enrich their scientific processes. Each of them bears a specific view on the notion of knowledge, considers it in a particular way and defines tools that may handle it or materialize it. During this "Semaine de la Connaissance" (Knowledge Week), conferences, workshops and group meetings will take place in parallel sessions. Moreover, several invited talks will be given during plenary sessions to foster exchanges and provide times when all the participants may meet.
